Hannah Brannan Founder, CEO / CTO
In 2018, combining her lifelong love of botanicals with a drive to return to work with the potential for positive impact on global systems, Hannah left behind the safety of her Software Engineering career to found Gather Flora.
Hannah's deep-rooted love for seasonal blooms traces back to her childhood memories of gardening with her grandmother in San Marcos, Texas. If anyone had the green thumb, Hannah’s Grandmother - Becky “Mimi” Jenkins certainly did. The gardens Mimi has cultivated offer magic, excitement, respite, and beauty. Hannah stumbled across the resonance of those childhood feelings again when she first saw the stunning heirloom and specialty stems produced by Northern California flower farmers. After learning that these distinctive flowers were locally grown - in contrast to 80%+ of cut flowers that are imported internationally - Hannah got fixated on the myriad positive impacts connected to improving and localizing the flower industry’s standard sourcing practices.
With Gather Flora as a platform, Hannah plans to drive forward values of traceability, corporate social accountability, supply chain alignment, and sustainability. Our vision for the flower industry of tomorrow includes thriving businesses, thriving communities, incredible flowers, and mindfulness around impact to the planet.
To bring this vision to life, Hannah is bringing every skill from every previous career she’s explored (specialty coffee, Arabic translation, Software Engineering, education and more). She is now joined by an incredible skilled team, and the most wonderful community of farmers and florists. We hope you join us in bringing this vision to life!
